Week of June 20th- Food and Art - Yummy combo!
Think all art should be in a gallery? Not at Gateway.
Students will have “unforgettable” moments this week.
They will use their mouths and their minds to create and
combine food and art. Some pieces will be take-home but a lot will be edible art! We will top off this week with a
chocolate fountain on Friday!

Week of June 27th - “Splat, Splat, Splat!”
Our most popular theme is back at the Gateway!
Students will blow, splatter, throw and drop paint on a
variety of surfaces, generating wonderful works of art.
Spin art and throwing paint-covered tennis balls will also
be included in the mix. Friday is our outside splatter day.
They will be splattered and should wear old clothes this
day from head to toe!

Week of July 4 (4-day week) - LEGO WEEK
Brick Mania with LEGO® Bricks (ages 5-12)
Spend an exciting few days creating, building, and playing
with LEGO® bricks!! Every day we will mix in Robotics
with a different theme such as Mining and Crafting, A
Pirate’s Quest, Jurassic Brick Land, Clash of Bricks and
many more! In robotics, we’ll incorporate the newest
generation of motors, sensors and software to create a
new robot, add a new functionality, or meet a new
challenge every day. Then depending on the theme of the
day, we’ll build motorized models, create dynamic
vehicles, inventions, machines, pirate ships, helms, and
anchors. We’ll use remote controls, build 3D models and
craft key elements from popular games such as Minecraft ® and Clash of Clans®. Daily activities also include group
games and creative play time with LEGO® bricks!

June 11 - Pottery and Paper
This week will combine these two mediums to complement
each other. Create beautiful luminaries that are fired, painted and glazed. Paper sculptures will also be created to introduce 3D-type works of art.

show with black lights on Friday.

Week of July 25th- Painting with Gels
Gel paints can be created and styled to bright, vivid or
clear and soft. Find out what happens with gel pens and
paint. Students will also use stencils to create unusual art
pieces while learning new techniques. They might get a little sticky, but still washable!

Week of August 1- Marionette - puppet making
Students will design and complete a working marionette.
They will create individual unique designs and bring them
to life, using paper mache, wood and other materials. The
end product will be something they will cherish. There will
